Only with unparalleled willpower was Trek able to realize its dreams and move ever closer to its goal. On board are Bontrager as the parts supplier, as well as the manufacturers Klein and Electra, with whom Gary Fisher, head of the company since 1992, is cooperating. The former dream still retains its place..

If you have a clear goal in mind and want to be number one like Trek, you will always stay focused and determined to overcome obstacles. Diligence and perseverance will be rewarded, which the Trek team has confirmed with a number of successes. In the United States, Trek has already become the largest bicycle manufacturer!

Trek not only proves how valuable friends can be who want to realize the same vision, but also that setbacks make you stronger if you give your hopes and dreams more space than disappointments. Through no fault of their own, Trek's efforts were associated with negative headlines due to the mistakes of third parties, including doping scandals.

It began with an ill omen – a journey through time..

When John Burke was 12 years old, he went on a spontaneous bike ride with his father through the hills and valleys of the Kettle Moraine region. John's father (Dick Burke) wanted to cover a whopping 110 kilometers with his son, although neither of them had ever ridden more than 15 kilometers in a day.

The image shows a close-up of a cyclist on a black Trek bike.

John crashed during the trip and was almost hit by a truck shortly afterwards. Despite some of these hair-raising anecdotes, John was enthusiastic about the experience. After the trip, he found out about his father's plan to open a bike shop. But it wasn't supposed to be just one shop: John's father opened several within a short period of time, but overall it turned out to be a failure. All of the shops had to close due to poor financial performance. But there was a positive side to this: Dick Burke realized that it wasn't the quantity that counted, but rather that he had to concentrate on something special... And so he developed his own brand, which was to cover the mid-range and upmarket price segments.

And so Trek was born, a truly unique bicycle manufacturer. In 1976, the team started with five men, who finally launched the first racing bike in 1982. A year later, the first mountain bike followed. Trek eventually also founded companies in the UK and Germany. Since then, this manufacturer has been a sponsor in both the MTB and road sports. It has increasingly attracted attention with well-known names. Lance Armstrong, for example, was even given part ownership of the company. In addition, Trek helped Team Trek's Tracy Mosley to greater fame when she became world champion on the Trek Session 9.9.

TREK – Developed to the point

This brand name is supposed to conjure up visions of travel and adventure in your head, to let you feel free and see new horizons. At the same time, Trek stands for inspiring durability and quality. With every weld, Trek makes a statement, breaks with conventions with extravagant designs and makes it clear that not only Europeans can develop great bikes.

A company that races to develop better bikes, draws inspiration from space travel to fully exploit the latest scientific findings and always shows tireless commitment, has every right to establish itself in the global bicycle market and reinvent the wheel with its head held high. This manufacturer knows exactly what it is doing. The Trek team also stands up to European manufacturers with its originality and has long since become a tough competitor

Last but not least, we would like to highlight a few other highlights:

A man is riding a black Trek bicycle down a street.

The new Slash, for example, makes hearts beat faster and shows what Trek can do: be on top, fascinate, inspire and convince. While such gems bask in the highest price segment, the developers behind them make it clear that limits are only there to be torn down. At Trek, you get bikes made of OCLV carbon, which is even better than the usual carbon. With this future-oriented material, Trek is setting the bar extremely high. In addition, there is another refinement: Alpha Aluminum..

Despite technical masterstrokes and the urge to grasp the unattainable, the manufacturers do not forget to explicitly support jobs for people of color by creating them and offering scholarships. A company that, after so many man-made disappointments, has pulled itself together and continues to strive forward with unbridled energy, without forgetting humanity in the process, is certainly one of the jewels in the manufacturing industry.
