A further advantage is the extremely high load-bearing capacity, which ensures a safe ride even when the bags are full. Switching from non-motorised to motorised offers a number of advantages. Be it the considerably longer distances or the considerably higher speed with which you move from A to B - the E-Touring Bike is worth it! On asphalt as well as in the countryside, bumps and shocks are absorbed in a body-friendly way, even at higher speeds, giving you an incomparable ride comfort. The high quality e-bikes from Cube, Ghost, Scott, Haibike and Winora leave nothing to be desired.
Furthermore, the E-Touring Bike is equipped with everything your heart desires. This includes a street-legal lighting system, a luggage rack on which side pockets can be attached for even more storage space, mudguards for the surprising rain and a bike stand. It is therefore completely StVZO-compliant.

As far as the frame is concerned, you can choose from various frame shapes according to your wishes and expectations. These include, especially for men, the diamond frame, similar to a racing bike. For this purpose, the seat and handlebars are adjusted to an upright sitting position in order to support the high riding comfort to the maximum. A trapezoid frame is also suitable, which is in high demand, especially for women, due to its bent top tube. It is the compromise between diamond and comfort frame. The latter is particularly well suited for frequent city trips, as its low entry makes it easy to handle when getting on and off the bike. The corresponding 28-inch wheels complement the all-rounder with smooth running and stable handling. When shifting gears, you should pay attention to at least 9 gears. Be it derailleur gears for a more sporty riding style or the more comfortable hub gears. As far as the brakes are concerned, hydraulic disc brakes should be used, as they work with the help of fluids in the brake line and thus offer significantly better braking characteristics.
The drive of the E-Touring Bike consists of the electric motor, the battery and the E-Bike Display. With the latter you can control the intensity of assistance and, for example, with the Bosch Nyon system you can read various information such as the range, the battery life or the route planner. When choosing the battery, you can choose from a battery capacity of 400 watt hours to 623 watt hours. If this capacity is not enough for you, the new DualBattery-System from Bosch allows you to install a second, separate battery, which provides up to 1000 watt hours. This allows the range to be extended to 200km in one piece, depending on the driving surface, luggage etc. At the end of your tour you can easily remove the battery from the holder and charge it at any power outlet in the house. The best known engine manufacturers are Bosch, Shimano and Yamaha. The motor supports you with up to 250 Watt and up to a maximum speed of 25km/h. It can be installed as front-wheel drive on the hub of the front wheel, which counts as the inexpensive entry into the e-bike trekking sector. With this version almost any gear shift can be used. Unfortunately, the front-wheel drive also has various disadvantages, such as the rather unattractive appearance, the extremely increased load on the front wheel and thus also the cumbersome steering characteristics. In order to counteract these, today mainly the middle motor is installed at the bottom bracket, close to the centre of gravity of the wheel. This ensures a better weight distribution and thus a much more pleasant riding experience. In addition, the motor is particularly quiet and yet still has a high efficiency. However, since this is considered the most complex variant of engine integration, it is also the most expensive. The third option is the rear-wheel drive, where a hub motor
The price of the somewhat more simply equipped models is around 1000€; the e-bikes with more complex technology and higher quality material are around 3500€ and more. The golden mean therefore is about 2500€ plus / minus.
E-Bike City

The e-bike city bikes, such as the Cube Elly models, are characterised by a special retro chic in modern pastel colours. So nothing stands in the way of a ride into town for shopping. Thanks to the luggage rack, Ortlieb bags or rave bags, for example, can be attached without assembly, providing sufficient storage space for all your shopping. With the help of the deep entry frame you can easily get on and off at every traffic light, and the electric motor means that you won't break a sweat on the way home - you are gently supported by the additional power of the motor. If you want to go faster, just click on the "power button" and the Yamaha or Bosch engine pushes you forward at full power, almost silently. Some manufacturers now hide the batteries and motors so well that an e-bike is not immediately noticeable as an e-bike. The motor becomes smaller and smaller and the batteries are integrated under the luggage rack.
